<aside> 📢 This is a four-week narrative design course aiming to teach you essential design fundamentals. You’ll put it to practice immediately to make some text games (Interactive fiction if you will) using Inkle’s Ink engine. If you ever wanted to tell stories via the video game medium, this is the course for you.

This course is aimed at anybody who wants to work with narrative. The material will serve as a good foundation for your career in interactive story-telling. If you are just curious about this field and discipline, this might be just the chance to try it in practice.
The focus of this course will be:
The course will be held on Discord in a closed server with learning materials kept on Google drive (including call recordings). You’ll have an opportunity to network and share with your peers. The discord will last until the company itself is gone. Peer feedback is encouraged and recommended!
Since this isn't a writing course, the language won't be discussed. You shouldn't let your English proficiency stop you. You'll do OK in this course if you can read this page without using Google Translate.
No prior experience with the Ink engine is necessary. While it’s a ridiculously powerful beast, you only need basic features for course tasks. You can use Twine or other text game engines but this means I won’t be helpful with any coding or technical issues.
The tasks shouldn’t take more than 10-20 hours a week but mileage may vary. I will give feedback on every task if it’s completed on time. It will include at least one sincere compliment on your work, I promise.
The discord calls are live with recording available afterward. The purpose is to assist participants. Share problems, ask questions, and maybe request additional material which might turn the call into an impromptu lesson.
If there is silence, I have some fun and useful exercises prepared so that you definitely get something from the calls.
The written lessons will be around 10 pages long and distributed through Google Drive. You can also pick them from my gumroad if you want to check it out before committing. The cost will be deducted, just mention it in the form.
